Kirk Herbstreit picked BYU.

Pat McAfee picked BYU.

“BYU, just a few weeks ago, I thought they were potentially the best football team that has ever gone onto a football field,” McAfee said. “I love the stormin’ Mormons out there minus-14 1/2 against Troy, strictly ’cause I don’t know what a Troy is.”

“I am on your side,” Herbstreit said. “I’m all about BYU. They are physical — probably as physical as anybody in the country at the line of scrimmage. I know it was against Navy — they hadn’t practiced, they hadn’t tackled — but I love this BYU team.

“College GameDay” host Rece Davis then shared that BYU might be shorthanded for the Troy game due to COVID-19.

“I love BYU, too — be very careful,” Davis said. “I’m told BYU might be down 12, 13 guys because of testing and tracing, might have some problems in the secondary and the offensive line.”
